15 – 16 March 2013 T.Lepp and H.Leek-Ambur participated in the Third International Conference on Health, Wellness and Society in Sao Paulo, Brazil (organized by Common Ground Publishing, USA). They gave a poster presentation entitled “The Health Promotion and Rehabilitation Competence Centre at Haapsalu College of Tallinn University”.
On 9 April 2013 the centre’s employee Toomas Proovel gave a presentation entitled “Tere tervis” (“Hello health”) at a health conference in Haapsalu.
On 10 May 2013 conference “Prevention and Balneological Treatment of Work-related Diseases Caused by Overload” was held in Haapsalu. The employees of the centre gave the following presentations: Viiu Tuulik, Jaanus Terasmaa “Curative muds and mud therapy” and Monika Übner “Mud treatment in resort treatments”.
Margot Pintson, Mari Alvela, Kadri Englas and Priit Eelmäe gave a presentation entitled “The gait pattern of children with spastic hemiplegia after using the ToeOFF® orthosis for at least six months – the pros and cons” at the III Annual Conference of Estonian Physiotherapists in Tartu on 17 May 2013.
In September 2013 Varje-Riin Tuulik gave a poster presentation entitled “Laser -Doppler Perfusion Monitoring and Myotonometry as Objective Methods to Test the Effect of the Physical and Balneological Agents on the Musculoskeletal Overuse Syndromes on Industry Workers” (authors: V-R.Tuulik, V.Tuulik, M.Tamm, V. Pille, T. Vare, P. Tint, S. Saarik) at The Baltic and North Sea Forum on Physical & Rehabilitation Medicine (BNF-PRM) in Hannover.
16 – 20 September 2013 Monika Übner participated in the 26th International Meeting on Organic Geochemistry (IMOG 2013) in Spain where she gave a poster presentation entitled “Organic Compounds of Coastal Lagoon Sediments from Estonia and Gotland. Organic geochemistry: trends for the 21st century”.
11 – 13 September 2013 Mari-Liis Ööpik, Kadri Englas, Vaike Kabel, Ülle Kruus, Riina Mõim, Malle Pakkanen, Ott Vanem and Priit Eelmäe participated in International Neurorehabilitation Symposiom INRS 2013: Driving Innovation in Neurorehabilitation in Zurich, Switzerland where they gave a poster presentation entitled “Seven month experience incorporating Lokomat into daily clinical practice – Haapsalu Neurological Rehabilitation Centre’s example”.
18 – 19 September 2013 Priit Eelmäe and Ivar Vinkel participated in “8th Congress of Baltic Association for Rehabilitation“. Priit Eelmäe was the vice president of the conference, led the first plenary session and gave a spoken presentation entitled “Eight month experience using neurorobotic devices in Haapsalu Neurological Rehabilitation Centre“. Ivar Vinkel gave a poster presentation entitled “Implementation of vibroacustic method in treatment of spasticity in patients with spinal cord and brain injuries: a pilot study“.
