Priit Eelmäe and Kadri Englas participated in a physiotherapy education conference in Vienna, Austria in November 2012. The conference was organized by World Confederation for Physical Therapy European Region. They gave a spoken presentation entitled “Physiotherapy students’ motivation and satisfaction with international intensive course focused on teaching physiotherapeutic assessment in clinical settings at 2009-2011” and a poster presentation entitled “An educative programme organized to implement FIM®-instrument in rehabilitation hospital settings for team-based usage and PT role in the process“.
On 2 November 2012 there was an international conference in Haapsalu organized by the work group of the mud therapy field – “Regional co-work on balneology and mud-therapy”. The centre’s employees Jaanus Terasmaa, Viiu Tuulik and Talis Vare gave presentations, also Monika Übner, a board member of the CEHPR.
Priit Eelmäe and Kadri Englas participated in the 51st conference focused on spinal cord injuries in London, England in September 2012. The conference was organized by International Spinal Cord Society. Eelmäe and Englas gave a spoken presentation entitled “Cost effectiveness, length of stay and outcome of inpatient rehabilitation for traumatic spinal cord injured patients”.
In September Mari Alvela and Margot Pintson participated in the 21st Annual Meeting of the European Society of Movement Analysis for Adults and Children in Stockholm, Sweden.
They gave a presentation entitled “Improvement of hemiplegic patient’s gait pattern over 8-month period after plantarflexors faciotomy. A case study”.In October Varje-Riin Tuulik Leisi and Monika Übner participated in a conference in Sorrento, Italy – 9th Mediterranean Forum of Physical and Rehabilitation Medicine, together with the 40th SIMFER Congress (Italian Society of Physical and Rehabilitation Medicine): “The Rehabilitation Medicine in the Mediterranean Area: Strategies and Experiences). They gave a poster presentation entitled “Centre of Excellence in Health Promotion and Rehabilitation; an interdisciplinary co-work in balneology in Estonia“.
Mari Alvela, Margot Pintson, Kadri Englas and Priit Eelmäe participated in the 2nd conference of Estonian Physiotherapists, organized by the Estonian Physiotherapists Association on 25 May 2012. They gave a presentation entitled “Assessing post-fasciotomy physiotherapeutic intervention to correct the gait pattern using 3D clinical gait analysis: a case study”.
