At the end of September, at the beginning of October there was a seminar in the field of vibroacoustics “Vibroacoustic Therapy in Neurorehabilitation: Talk between Proprioception and Sensorimotor Performance”. The training was conducted by Ana Katusic, PhD Zagrebist, Croatia.
17 September – 3 October 2014 the training course “NDT/Bobath Approach as applied to the management of adults with hemiplegia and allied neurological conditions” was held in Haapsalu Neurological Rehabilitation Centre.
The course was in the field of neurological physiotherapy with a focus on evidence-based rehabilitation of patients with brain injuries, but primarily to assist physiotherapy and to advance private practice as an independent specialist. The course was in accordance with the requirements of Neuro-Developmental Treatment Association, Inc. (NDTA™, Inc.) and upon completing the course its participants received certificates. Also, the completion of the course ensured the possibility to participate in NDTA™, Inc. advanced course. The course was conducted by the CEHPR expert Cathy Hazzard.9 -10 September 2014 international training course “Wheelchair Skills Assessment and Training: a Practical Workshop for Therapists” was held in Haapsalu. CEHPR experts Lee Kirby MD, Cher Smith PhD from Canada were involved.
5 – 6 September 2014 the 4th annual conference of the Estonian Association of Physiotherapists was held in the Dorpat Conference Centre in Tartu. The main topic of the conference was the wheelchair.
A specific training course on how to use a wheelchair was held on the second day of the conference. CEHPR was a partner in organizing the conference/training. Among others, its experts Lee Kirby MD and Cher Smith PhD from Canada were involved in organizing the conference.
15 May 2014 conference “A Child with Special Needs Becomes an Adult”
The conference was held in the balcony hall of Haapsalu Community Centre and in the Neurological Rehabilitation Centre where the Medical Rehabilitation Laboratory was introduced. The aim of the conference was to introduce the newest developments in the treatment of the diseases of the nervous system and the moving apparatus. The conference focused on the questions of how rehabilitation and support services are guaranteed for people with special needs as they reach adulthood and how to ensure that a family whose child with special needs has reached adulthood keeps its habitual way of life and family model.On 9 May conference “Estonian Curative Mud in the Service of Efficient Estonia” was held.

The training course was conducted by the Finnish expert Harry Ahtee who is a sports instructor in Käpylä Rehabilitation Centre and a member of the Finnish Association of People with Physical Disabilities. Participants acquired practical skills of daily moving in a wheelchair with the aim of increasing their professionalism in teaching wheelchair skills to patients. The course focused on both the domestic and outside environments.On 16 April, in cooperation with the other departments of Haapsalu College, an experimental workshop “KU:R” was held to develop ideal solutions for CEHPR health products.
